Anti Bullying Lesson - Bullying or banter? PSHE or Tutor Time resources for the new PSHE 2020 -24 curriculum. This detailed lesson focuses on the issues surrounding 'banter' culture - and when a bit of light teasing becomes bullying and verbal peer on peer abuse, through investigating case studies and different scenarios familiar to all schools. Students will first explore how TikTok and Youtube algorithms can recommend videos which purposefully push radical views, from misogyny to extreme religion and more, to people who did not intentionally search for such content, and discover how people can fall down radical rabbit-holes. They will examine the 'frog in a pot' analogy to show how extremist views can take such a stronghold on people. Students will then explore the political spectrum to discover what we mean when we talk about far right, far left and religious extremism, comparing these to sensible left of centre, right of centre and moderate religious views. Using this guide, students will then examine real-life quotes from TikTok and assess whether the quotes would be classed as moderate and sensible views, or are in fact extreme. There are many more quotes than shown in the preview, so teachers can pick and choose which they use according to the suitability for their classes. An achievement and aspiration assembly with a focus on achievement. It lasts about 15-20 minutes if clips are watched and questions asked too. The assembly emphasises the value of hard work in achieving your aims, explains why teachers always set high targets and gives inspirational examples of famous and non-famous success stories from people who have worked hard. Digital footprints PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. In this lesson, the students will discuss the different ways that our online activities can leave a trail of information behind. We will look at the reasons why companies like Google collect detailed information about our browsing habits. Job Interviews + Preparation. For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - a detailed lesson containing a 1-2 hour PowerPoint, worksheets, clips, interview role play activities - for KS3/ KS4. This lesson has recently been updated for 2024, and students will spend the first part following the journey of a student called Katey, as she tries to gain a position in the tech industry. For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - A careers assembly lasting around 20-25 minutes (including short clip) with a focus on why Careers Education is so important and how students can make the most of all the opportunities presented to them whilst in school. The assembly examines the cases of two fictional ex-students, Alisha and Jack, who didn’t take Careers Education seriously and ended up paying the price for it by adding years on to their lives in the time it took them to eventually find their ideal jobs.
